How to still love and enjoy Last Gen (PS3 Edition): Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

Hey guys! Welcome to today's post! Today we are doing another post about how you can still love and enjoy your last generation consoles. Maybe you still have a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, that's great! There's still a lot you can do on it! Today we're doing a PlayStation post or Playstation 3 edition. I plan to, like the #YOTW posts, post one of these every week except switching off on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In the future I might start doing Nintendo last gen but I wouldn't expect it.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is a widely known game after Activision released it in 2012 in association with Treyarch. This game was mainly known to come to the Next Gen consoles and PC but this was also released to Last Gen such as Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. There were major changes to the style that they couldn't implement into the older generations of consoles so of course there were drastic changes between the Next Gen and Last Gen games. Let's look at what had to be changed for Last Gen on Black Ops 3:

  • Activision was forced to remove the Campaign from the Last Gen players due to incapability to run it.
  • Activision added supply drops to the game which was a micro-DLC. This was not ported to Last Gen, luckily for some players.
  • Activision was forced to drop the frame rate because of the old processor in the old consoles and this affects game-play still.
  • Activision took a big step back reducing the graphics for Last Gen because the graphics were built for better quality such as 4K for PS4 players.
  • Certain qualities such as paint shop, camo for guns, guns added, customization options and after-game taunts were forced to be removed when these were built useful for new consoles only.
These are some major to minor setbacks of Last Gen gaming. There are however ways that you can improve looks and game qualities. Her are my current setting on my PlayStation 3 when I play:

  • Go to options and display, then go to brightness and turn it down to 3. This should improve quality and graphics of the game as good as possible.
  • Go over to audio and turn down in-game music to a 5 and increase SFX. This will make your gun louder and footsteps clearer to be able to sneak up on them.
  • Go to controller layout options and do the following: Make L1 and R1 controls your lethal and tactical, make L2 and R2 controls aim and trigger, finally make R3 tap a knife or gun butt.
This is all for now! Hopefully you enjoy Black Ops 3 on Last Gen! I hope these tips help improve your game and I'll see you next time! Have a #PikaPerfect day!
