Review of Taylor Swift's Two New Singles

Hi again! This is thecrzyldy coming at you with a review of Taylor Swift's new singles "Look What You Made Me Do" and "...Ready For It?". As you know, she recently came out with "Look What You Made Me Do" a couple weeks ago, and it got a mixed response. Then, Swift came out with "...Ready For It?", which (though very similar in style) is pretty different from her first single, so it attracted a different crowd. So, are these songs worth listening to?

On August 24, 2017 a new song took the music world by storm. "Look What You Made Me Do"was released on a Thursday. It didn't take much time to end up on radios and playlists everywhere, but that is probably mostly because of its new style and rhythm. There's an almost conceivably creepy beginning with light piano, then in comes the first strong beat, and Taylor Swift starts to sing right away... "I don't like your little games...". But once you pass the first verse, in comes an upbeat more regular part of the chorus, ultimately resulting in the monotone title of the song. In addition to the very stylistic song, the video can paint it in a new light, so I would recommend watching it for a simple interpretation of the song. Overall, a very nice song, and definitely worth listening to.

After debuting her first single of her upcoming album Reputation, on September 2, 2017 Taylor Swift came out with another song called "...Ready For It?'. It starts about with a VERY (and I mean very) strong beat that hits in groups of threes. After three of those, Swift begins to sing, and the lyrics are not subtle: "knew he was a killer, first time that I saw him, wonder how many girls he had loved and left haunted...". After some dramatic lyrics it switches to a softer segment of the song, then (and you didn't see this coming) she says "Are you ready for it?" in a very similar way like her last song, which helps tie it into her theme of having a changed reputation and style that is going to stick. After another verse much like the fist one, she comes back to the soft part and brings you into another world where Taylor Swift sings at different pitches, leaving you with a beautiful chorus coming to an abrupt end with her dramatic line "Are you ready for it?"! As I said before, this is very similar to her first single and it makes a good impression of the new Taylor Swift. "Look What You Made Me Do" made it clear she had a new look, but this is just the first taste of this "new reputation".
In the end, its a great song for almost any time, so what are you waiting for? Listen to it!

The release date of the whole album is November 10, 2017, and I cant wait! So far, I'm liking this new reputation of hers and I hope you do too! Keep an eye out for my next post!
